Put an NDA in place before answering a buyer's intake questions: until then what you submit may not be confidential
Mode's site terms say that until the company and Mode sign a written confidentiality agreement, what it submits through the site (intake form and estimator included) carries no confidentiality obligation beyond the privacy policy, and that company data reaches Mode only after a data licence agreement is signed. Other buyers put the NDA first: AfterQuery emails its mutual NDA together with its short questionnaire, Abaka says an NDA is signed before anything sensitive changes hands, and Turing says it works under NDA from first contact.
