From 30 September 2024 the foundation sells news data for AI training and analysis from 97 outlets (of the 127 whose news works it manages in trust), in three buyer classes (large platform firms, other platform firms, small firms and non-profits) and two products (past articles, current articles), with a cheaper research-only product for small firms and non-profits; portals and their affiliates are excluded and no product may be used for a live news service. Each outlet sets its own price, changeable once a month; the foundation negotiates with buyers on the amount the outlet gives it.
