The buyers' own reason for paying a company: public and generated data cannot show how work is done

Mercor and Appen give the same answer to "why do AI labs want our data": "Public data and synthetic datasets cannot replicate that" (Mercor) and "Public and synthetic data cannot replicate that" (Appen). Centific says public and synthetic data "often lack the history behind those actions", Nyne says labs need "real-world business data ... not artificial data sets they've generated themselves", and Scale says labs need "real-world environments rather than synthetically generated ones". Mercor's and Appen's sentences are nearly word for word the same, so read them as one industry script rather than five independent views.
