Reddit, Inc. v. Anthropic PBC, order granting motion to remand to state court (No. 3:25-cv-05643-TLT, Dkt. 60 (N.D. Cal. Mar. 30, 2026))
A platform's terms of use can bind an AI company that collects its content when the company knew of the terms, and claims built on those terms (contract, trespass, misrepresentation) are not swept into copyright law. A holder that wants to be paid for public data should have terms that forbid collection without agreement.
