Unity Terms of Service, use restrictions: training AI on Unity offerings or their outputs needs Unity's prior authorization (Unity Terms of Service, section 17.2(dd) (Use Restrictions), last updated June 30, 2026)

A Unity customer agrees not to use Unity's software, or data, assets or outputs derived from it or generated with it, to train or develop AI models without Unity's prior authorization, and not to authorize or cooperate with a third party that does. Unity does not say whether it treats a studio's own game builds, exported assets or gameplay footage as such outputs, so a studio that built in Unity asks Unity in writing before licensing any of them for training.
