The bill passed the Diet on 10 July 2026 and was promulgated on 17 July 2026, so it is law, but not yet in force. The PPC states that it is still studying the cabinet orders, PPC rules and guidelines (its page was updated on 14 October 2026 with the third of its papers on the basic thinking behind them). The official English translation site still shows the 2021 version of the Act (Act No. 37 of 2021) as the last version.
