- One Korean news outlet's news data for one year, sold for AI analysis and training to a general platform company: the Korea Press Foundation's reference price for the middle of three price groups in its draft table of May to June 2024
The Korea Press Foundation, which sells outlets' news copyright, set this already-priced figure from the market as group Na for general platform firms in a draft table it sent its trustees on 24 May 2024. The Korea Copyright Commission's study of December 2024 takes the same KRW 10 million per outlet-year as the expected unit price for news in its first pricing option. The foundation called the table a temporary example of a transaction standard, not a final price, and shelved it on 20 June 2024 after the newspaper association objected that one outlet's low supply price could be taken for the market price; the product it launched on 30 September 2024 lets each outlet set and change its own price, so this is a seller-side reference, not a completed sale.

A disclosed sale of regional news archives for a government language-corpus project, reported by the press itself as one of the only two precedents the Korean press had for selling news as data (the other being negotiated one by one for large outlets). A language-corpus project's price, not an AI lab's, but the data was used to build Korean language resources. Buyer: the National Institute of Korean Language; seller: the Korea Press Foundation for its trustees.
